planted Va Piano Vineyards in 1999 with the vision of making small lots of well balanced, full bodied reds that showcases Walla Walla’s exceptional fruit along with creating a unique and familial atmosphere. In 2004 they blended old-world charm with modern day efficiency by building their Tuscan style tasting room and wine studio –offering work space to six boutique wineries.
And in December of 2005, Va Piano celebrated their grand opening by releasing their first vintages, a 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2003 Syrah which have been given outstanding reviews.

A fouth-generation Walla Wallan, Justin became fascinated with the blossoming wine industry literally sprouting up in his backyard. Inspired, he started making wine in his garage, learning from local winemakers, growers and afficianados.
Before long Justin found his palate and his hobby turned into a passion: with the encouragement from friends and family, Justin began his first commercial crush in the fall of 2003. His winemaking philosophy is simple: exceptional wine comes from exceptional fruit. Justin carefully manages the vineyards and follows strict standards of sustainable agriculture.

We have been fortunate to have Alejandro working with us since 2004. His attention to detail in the vineyard and the winery has contributed immensely to our success. We don't know what we would do without him.
Ryan joined the Va Piano team in April of 2007 after moving here from Seattle to pursue his dream of being a winemaker. His love and passion for wine makes him a perfect fit on our production team. His dedication to perfection contiunes to add to our success at Va Piano.
Derri joined the Va Piano team in April of 2010 as the Tasting Room & Estate Club Manager. She was born and raised in Walla Walla and has seen the town transform into the wine destination it is today.
Derri’s passion for wine and her fascination with the winemaking process led her from the dental field into the wine industry 3 years ago, she is very excited to be a part of Va Piano Vineyards and looks forward to sharing our wines with you.
